Veteran, Realtor, and Beekeeper

A Veteran
Robert Mallard served honorably in the United States Army for 17 years, retiring in 2016 as a Warrant Officer. His exemplary service earned him the Bronze Star Medal and the Samuel Sharp Award for leadership and distinguished service in combat. As an Iraq War veteran, Robert understands the unique challenges faced by veterans and remains committed to advocating for their successful transition. He works to provide access to education, resources, and support systems that help veterans integrate into stable retirement or new career paths. His focus includes promoting entrepreneurship, community services, and gainful employment opportunities that best utilize veterans’ skills to benefit their communities.

A Realtor
In his role as a Realtor, Broker, and Property Manager, Robert witnessed firsthand how the COVID-19 crisis impacted the real estate industry. From the perspectives of investors, renters, and agents, he observed the industry’s challenges and gains throughout the pandemic and its ongoing effects. With the real estate market in a transitional phase, Robert positions himself as a seasoned professional advocating for the growth of District 139 and the Columbus, GA, area. Robert and his wife, Radiah Mallard, were featured in the September 2017 edition of Entrepreneur Magazine and have been awarded the “Best Top 3 Property Management Company in Columbus, Georgia” for six consecutive years.

A Farmer
Robert ventured into beekeeping in 2020, inspired by his wife, Radiah, a graduate of the Heroes to Hives program. Together, they co-founded Foundation Honey Co. in partnership with Woody O’Connell of “Honey I’m Home” in Columbus, GA. Their efforts focus on beautifying the Columbus area through beekeeping and urban agriculture. With the support of Mr. Ronzell Buckner of Turn Around Columbus, they have installed beehives at the Victory Garden, providing educational beekeeping classes to underserved children. These classes aim to expose children to agriculture, the importance of bees in food security, and the value of community gardens. Robert is also committed to sharing the therapeutic benefits of beekeeping with fellow veterans. In 2024, Robert launched an innovative prison ministry initiative under Foundation Honey Co. called the Prison Pipeline to Prosperity, which teaches business and entrepreneurship skills to former inmates and those currently serving time.
